Preventative Care

The ongoing dental health of our patients is very important. For this reason, we pay special attention to preventative dental visits. Our team includes Dental Hygienist Trisha Stephenson, and our Oral Health Therapist Jose Kathavelil who are here to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums.

In a typical Hygiene appointment, Trish or Jose, will assess the health of your mouth and will review how you look after your teeth and gums at home. They pay particular attention to your gums, and will assess their health by looking for areas where plaque is building up, or for areas of bleeding or infection. Trish or Jose will then show you any areas of concern, and show you the best ways to help you improve these areas. They will then complete a thorough clean, and finish with a fluoride rinse to keep your teeth nice and strong.

We can also incorporate a check-up appointment on the same day as your hygiene appointment. We recommend both of these appointments every 6 months, to ensure that any problems such as tooth decay, gum disease, or broken fillings can be detected early. Preventative Care is very important in improving the long term outlook for our patients dental health. This is of huge benefit to our patients because it means they are far more likely to have healthy and great looking teeth throughout their lives.
